Tata Communications Q4 Results: PAT jumps over seven times sequentially, almost in line with estimates; Tata group company declares dividend


Tata Communications (TATACOMM) Q4 FY24 Results: Tata group telecommunications firm Tata Communications on Wednesday reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 321.2 crore for the final quarter of the financial year 2023-24, up 7.2 times sequentially and almost in line with analysts’ estimates.  

The company’s total income grew 1.8 per cent on a quarter-on-quarter basis to Rs 5,748.7 crore, according to a regulatory filing.

According to Zee Business research, Tata Communications was estimated to report a consolidated net profit of Rs 325 crore with revenue of Rs 5,750 crore for the January-March period. 

Tata Communications’ EBITDA margin, a key measure of profitability, stood at 18.6 per cent for the March quarter as against 20.1 per cent for the previous three months. 

Tata Communications Q4: Segment-wise revenue

While revenue from its core business segment of data services increased 0.9 per cent sequentially to Rs 4,670.9 crore, that from voice solutions improved 1.4 per cent to Rs 429 crore. Campaign registry revenue increased 9.1 per cent to Rs 138 crore and transformational services revenue declined 1.1 per cent to Rs 397.3 crore.

Revenue from its real estate and payment solutions units grew marginally to Rs 59.8 crore and Rs 41.7 crore in the final quarter of the last financial year, from Rs 59.3 crore and Rs 40.3 crore in the October-December period.

Tata Communications FY24 Results 

For the full financial year ended March 31, 2024, the private sector telecom company registered a consolidated net profit of Rs 968.3 crore as against Rs 1,796 crore for the previous year.

Its FY24 revenue expanded to a record Rs 21,251.3 crore from Rs 18,201.4 crore the previous year, aided by 21.9 per cent year-on-year growth in data revenue to cross the Rs 17,000 crore mark, the company said.

Tata Communications’ digital portfolio clocked broad-based growth across all its offerings, improving by 55.4 per cent on a full-year basis, it said.

“As we enter the next fiscal, our firm focus will remain on integrating our acquisitions, executing our strategies, and driving sustainable and profitable revenue growth,” Lakshminarayanan added.
