Mon: TASE strong gains continue


The banks led the market higher today but NICE Systems and Nova slipped.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 1.65%, to 2,000.87 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 1.31% to 2025.73; but the BlueTech Global Index fell 0.04% to 431.91 points. The All Bond corporate bond index rose 0.24% to 379.74 points. Turnover totaled NIS 2.51 billion in equities and NIS 3.89 billion in bonds.

On the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Israel set the representative shekel-dollar rate down 0.961% from Friday, at NIS 3.712/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set 1.039% lower at NIS 4.020/€.

Bank Leumi (TASE:LUMI) led the market today, rising 3.14% on the day’s biggest trading turnover. Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 2.21%, Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) rose 3.51% and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank rose 3.90%.

Shapir Engineering & Industries (TASE: SPEN) rose 7.1% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 35 Index today. Electra (TASE: ELTR) rose 5.75% and Ashtrom Group (TASE: ASHG) rose 4.98%. Delek Group Ltd. (TASE:DLEKG) rose 4.09% and its Mediterranean energy exploration and production unit NewMed Energy (TASE: NWMD) rose 4.74%. NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE:NICE) fell 1.59% and Nova Measuring Instruments Ltd. (Nasdaq:NVMI; TASE:NVMI also fell 1.59% for the biggest falls on the Tel Aviv 35 Index today.

Outside of the Tel Aviv 35 Index, Perion Network (Nasdaq: PERI; TASE: PERI) fell 37.36% after issuing a profit warning.
