World Laughter Day 2024: Every year, on the first Sunday of May, people across the globe come together to celebrate World Laughter Day, spreading joy and positivity through laughter. This year, on May 5th, 2024, the world again joins in this celebration, acknowledging the profound significance of laughter in our lives.

World Laughter Day 2024: Meaning and History

World Laughter Day originated from the Laughter Yoga movement, founded by Dr. Madan Kataria, a physician from India, in 1998. Dr Kataria recognised the therapeutic benefits of laughter and initiated laughter yoga sessions in a Mumbai park with just five participants. Since then, the movement has grown exponentially, spreading to over 100 countries.
